Michigan State Law (included in the revised school code as MCL 380.1313a & MCL 380.1313b, also known as Public Acts 257 & 258 of 2024) requires all public school districts to publish information about the safe and secure storage of firearms to prevent suicide, violence, and accidental firearm injuries.

The above mentioned laws relate to Public Act 17 of 2023 which requires individuals to keep unattended weapons unloaded and locked with a locking device or stored in a locked box or container if it is reasonably known that a minor is likely to be present on the premises.
