Mrs. Zabavski's 7th grade Life Science class made cells using candy. These models were complete with cell membrane, nucleus, ribosomes, cytoplasma, mitochondria, endoplasmic reticulum, & Golgi.




Lybrook students had a dance party today, voted in by the students with their Beaver Bucks!

3rd graders became animal researchers, studying the characteristics, habitats and behaviors of animals via zoo Webcams. Animal Classification is the focus of our newest unit in the CKLA English Language Arts curriculum materials.

Who: University of Michigan CubeSat Flight Laboratory (CFL) - Professor James Cutler (jwcutler@umich.edu) - 4 instructors - 30 students What: High Altitude Balloon (HAB) Launch - Launching on two helium balloons - Balloons are carrying student-built CubeSats - All items are harmless When: November 17th, from 9 am - 5 pm 9:00 am: Arrive 9:00 -11:00 am: Launch preparations (filling up balloons, laying out tarp) 11:00 am - 1:00 pm: Potential launch window 1:00 pm - 4 pm: Some people stay to track balloons - These times are all estimates based on simulations - This is the extreme duration of our stay, it may be less Where: Eau Claire High School Baseball Diamonds - The location is based off simulations that land our balloons back near Ann Arbor - The location may change if weather changes Why: Education - Part of a laboratory class at the University of Michigan Department of Aerospace Engineering - Launch is the culmination of the students' work during the semester - Collection of magnetic field data and pictures at a high altitude
