Fifth graders had a great time at Airborne Adventure Park today! This field trip was a PBIS field trip- earned by showing Beaver Pride in the month of April. Congratulations to all the students that got to attend! Keep up the great work!

Miss Olivia has worked in Mrs. McDonnough's 2nd grade classroom this year as a student teacher through Andrew's University. Tonight was her "pinning ceremony" as she prepares for her graduation. This was a special evening, celebrating the amazing privilege and responsibility it is to be a teacher. We're so thankful for the chance to partner with this local university as we help prepare future teachers!

On Thursday, Ms. Narregan's Anatomy class did a lab simulating food as it moves through the digestive system from the mouth through excretion. Students were excited to see how this all played out.
The track team returned to River Valley for their third conference race this season. The boys' team got another first-place victory in the conference. In the 100-meter dash, Elijah Marlowe and Melvin Davis took 1st and 2nd place. Elijah Marlowe also took 1st place in the 200-meter dash. Devin Hill took 2nd place, just a point second, behind Elijah. DQ got 1st place in the 400-meter dash. Devin Hill got 1st place in the 110-meter hurdles, and Jovany Raya got first place in discus. Our boys' 4x200 and 4x400 teams also took 1st place in their events, with the 4x200 team getting a new personal record of 1.36 and our 4x400 team getting a new record of 3.45. In the 2-mile, Dilan Vargas dropped 12 seconds off his time to get a new personal record of 12.10. Jacob Daniel broke out of the 13-minute barrier of his 2-mile and ran a new personal record of 12.57. Our girls' team took first place in the 4x200 relay with a new personal record of 2.00.27. They also got a new personal record in the 4x100 with a time of 56.87. The team travels to Saint Joe on Friday for the Rotary meet. Their Conference championship race is this coming Tuesday. Keep up the great work, team!
4th graders started our inventors unit this week. In our first lesson, we created lab teams and worked on collaboration. Each team was tasked with coming up with a plan to pass around a ping-pong ball without using their hands. They were given two pencils, 10 tissues, and rubber bands. They demonstrated fantastic collaboration!
